The referenced resource failed to download
by highkite » Thu Jun 16, 2011 5:11 am
I just installed it and it's great. It can really stand along with the best commercial programs. One significant bug is quite often "The referenced resource failed to download" with additional to 2 default dictionaries.I have an impression that it's connected with Sound files.InstallationWindows 7 64bitGoldenDict 32-bit Windows En-Ru-En installer, 78MBCambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, 3rd Edition, 2008 from traduko.lib.ru/dics_en_en.htmlOxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, 8th edition, 2010 from traduko.lib.ru/dics_en_en.htmlReproduction. - Enter "tortoise" - tortoise and 7 other word combinations are displayed in the list- Turn off "Speech" dict pressing its button and error "The referenced resource failed to download" is pops up if Cambridge or Oxford dictionaries are active- Turn on "Speech" dict, no problem- Choose "tortoiseshell" from the list. The same error. Probably, because there is no tortoiseshell audio word in "Speech" but there are sound icons in Cambridge or Oxford dictionaries.- Enter "go along" - no problems. No sound icons in Cambridge or Oxford - Enter "go-ahead". The same issue. Cambridge and Oxford have Speech iconsThe same problem on many other dictionaries with many other words-------------------------------------------------------Update. What's the main benefit of a detailed question? You usually find the answer before clicking Send button. The problem is only present if "Auto-pronounce works" is chosen in options. It looks like this functionality is needed to be fixed so that it was Auto-pronounce only if sound file is present.

Right. I believe it would be right to just not show this message when the resource is auto-played and found absent. A bug should be filed to keep reference.
