How to remove the watermark from Windows 8 desktop ?

To know, how to remove the watermark from WIndows 8 Consumer Preview desktop, go through the tutorial below.

You must have seen the small watermark on the bottom right corner of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview desktop background. It says ”
Windows 8 Consumer Preview, Evaluation copy. Build 8250 ". Though it is small, but still the desktop doesn’t look fully clean due to the
presence of this watermark. So you may want to remove this watermark.

This tutorial will show you the way to remove this watermark.
Before starting this tutorial you should know the fact that, this watermark removal will work only if you select a single picture as your desktop background.
If you have changing desktop background, then this method will not work.

1. Select the wallpaper which you want as your wallpaper. Right click on it and select Set as Desktop Background to set that wallpaper.

2. Now navigate to C:\Users\User Acccount\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles\ .

There you will see a watermarked version of the image, you have set as wallpaper.

3. Now copy it’s name. Open the original image change that file’s name to this name. Resize the original picture to your desktop’s resolution
(e.g. :1200X800 or 1366X768 etc) with your favourite image application. You can do this form Paint or Microsoft Office Picture Manager
also. Next copy paste this image to the above mentioned folder.It will prompt you for replacing the file existing there.

4. Now log off from your current user accout and agin login. You will see the watermark free desktop background in action.
